Systems Administrator

 

Financial Information Systems at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator. The Systems Administrator position involves all aspects of computer client systems management including testing, implementation, support, and troubleshooting of PCs, laptops, and mobile devices. The duties of this position include administration of 600+ clients through Microsoft Active Directory, System Center Configuration Manager software deployments, Group Policy configurations, SCCM Operating System deployments, Windows Imaging Format, and Application Virtualization. Must have an advanced understanding of client computers and network technology, administration, and analysis.

Excellent organizational skills are required for project planning and implementation. Strong skills in Windows XP, Vista, Active Directory, software distribution, disk imaging, virtualization technologies, and Group Policy are required. System administration scripting skills with visual basic and WMI are beneficial. You must also have excellent customer service and communication skills.  

 

A bachelor's degree in computer or information science, or related field, or equivalent experience in information systems and at least three years of experience is required.  The applicant is required to possess or obtain A+ Certification within six months of hire.
